There has been
coverage of a company called
Dress Up Games based out of
Iceland in the media as they have been showing more profit than some of the traditional businesses run out of Iceland. I think this company is a fantastic example of the
Long Tail at work, I have
written about why I believe the Long Tail is more relevant today than ever. The above company's success is an example of my
investment thesis (invest in companies that are building scaleable applications on top of the infrastructure of
Google,
Facebook,
Twitter, Blogs, Community Forums etc), here is a company that was built out of a passion in a remote part of the world and identifies a niche
customer base and the customer base finds the website and all the revenue for the site comes through
Google Adwords. What is even more surprising is the fact that the company gets contacted by the lawyers of
Taylor Swift and they want the website to remove Tailor Swift dress up doll references!
