" The man who makes a success of an important venture never waits for the crowd. He strikes out for himself. It takes nerve, it takes a great lot of grit; but the man that succeeds has both. Anyone can fail. The public admires the man who has enough confidence in himself to take a chance. These chances are the main things after all. The man who tries to succeed must expect to be criticized. Nothing important was ever done but the greater number consulted previously doubted the possibility. Success is the accomplishment of that which most people think can't be done."

I have been having a lot of resistance to what I am trying to do, everyone I meet agrees with the ideas, vision and strategies that I have outlined since I started blogging but when it comes time to commit and take action they back out. They all give reasons like Iceland is too small, you dont' have a track record, how do you know this is going to be successful? we don't have a culture of investing in Venture businesses or for that matter Private Equity etc etc I keep thinking to myself, I must be doing something wrong! It is probably the messenger and not the message as the facts are right in front of us, why cannot I explain it so everyone sees it? When I was ranting this to my wife, she pointed me to the above quote. It makes a lot of sense to me now! I have never been more driven, committed and pushing against all odds than now. It is so painful that I want to scream and say I quit! It is very tempting. Success is not about taking the easy way out! I have experienced this while I run the marathon, at mile 25, your body is screaming to stop, every muscle on your bone is tired and it feels like the whole earth is stuck to your feet when you try to move it! but there is this quite voice in my head that keeps saying "Dont Quit", "You can do it" and "Pain is temporary, but quitting lasts forever!" or was it Lance Armstrong? I forget. Anyways, it has been tough going but I am ALL IN, there is no turning back and I am not going to QUIT. Here is the action plan:
1. Stay focused on the vision, as one Jedi Master said "your focus determines your reality"
2. Do or do not, there is no try... so I am going to continue to do what I has set out to do
