Big day for me...

It was a big day for me as Glitnir signed a Memorandum of Understanding with LNJ Bhilwara Group in India yesterday. I signed the agreement for Glitnir in the presence of HE P Chidambaram, Finance Minister of India and HE Arni Mathieson, Finance Minister of Iceland.

We have agreed to jointly explore Geothermal sources in India to develop a pilot project to do district heating or develop a plant with 1MW to 5MW capacity. If we are successful, this will be the first Geothermal power plant in India.

Reykjavik Marathon & Central Asia Institute

I decided to run the Reykjavik Marathon and the Berlin Marathon. The reason I decided to run the Reykjavik Marathon is to maximize the charity donation that I can contribute. My bank is donating US $ 45.75 per km to a charity of choice of the runner.

As I had mentioned in my previous posting, I am devoting all my fund raising activity to contribute towards the exceptional work that Greg Mortensen is doing in Pakistan and Afghanistan. He is my Hero and I hope whoever is reading this post can contribute something to his effort to educate girls and women in place where there is very little value placed on women and girls!

That has been the order of my travel the last 3 to 4 weeks... I had forgotten how tiring getting on a plane and getting off used to be until the last couple of weeks. Well, I hope this trend should not last too long. I have been given the mandate by my bank's leadership to facilitate the integration of a FIM a financial services company in Finland. It has been going well so far but as I always tell myself "The proof is in the pudding!", we need to execute on the opportunities that the combined organizations have. It is a very exciting and challenging role, lets see what my blog post says in another six months :)

Other than that I have been keeping up with the running, although I have not been able to do a lot of cross-training like I planned to do, I have been keeping up with the running.

Hectic week! & Glitnir posts 102% increase in profits!

It has been a hectic week, I went to Copenhagen on Monday and we had planned to leave to Boston for the weekend. However, due to work I had to reschedule my Boston trip until March 1. Anyway, I got back on track this morning I wanted to leave at 6 am and run for 2 hours... however it started haling so I waited until 6:50 and headed out. I ran for an hour and I have also created a running log on the side bar in my blog so that everyone can have a summary of my running plan.

My bank Glitnir reported record profits this year. To summarize we posted 435 million Euros a 102% increase from last year!!!
